Multiple Measures Assessment Project: Spring 2015 Technical Report

June 2015

This technical report from the Multiple Measures Assessment Project outlines its research to inform the development of predictive models and decision trees for assessing and placing students using high school transcript data, conducted in Phase 1 of the project. In addition, it articulates its efforts to understand the utility of including non-cognitive variables in the placement process. The report provides an update on the efforts of 23 pilot colleges to implement and evaluate the impact of these models in Phase 1 and highlights the activities for Phase 2. Institutional researchers and planners and college leaders can use this report to understand the technical background behind the development of the multiple measures approach to assessment as part of the Common Assessment Initiative.
