Craig Rutan
Strategic Advisor, Academic Senate For California Community Colleges (ASCCC)
Craig Rutan is a Professor of Physics at Santiago Canyon College. He is currently his college’s Academic Senate President and is the Chair of the ASCCC Data and Research Task Force. The ASCCC Executive Committee established the Data and Research Task Force to increase the use of data by faculty to improve student learning and their first task is to collect and analyze local implementations of AB 705 and share praising practices systemwide. Professor Rutan was previously a member of the ASCCC Executive Committee (2014-19), serving as South Representative, Area D Representative, and Secretary, and has been integral in many projects including the creation of theStudent Success Scorecard, implementation of the Student Success Metrics, the Common Assessment Initiative, the Code Alignment Project, and the implementation of AB 705 for math, English, and ESL.
