The RP Group is proud to announce the launch of Data, Meet Culture, a new blogging platform created to underscore and elevate what is woven throughout our organization, including our vision statement — that both culture and evidence are paramount to our purpose of helping students succeed.
On any campus, culture and evidence often play central roles in the shaping of practices, policy, and ultimately more equitable and successful outcomes for our students in California’s Community Colleges, four-year institutions, and beyond. The two are also intertwined and require understanding of each other to inspire positive outcomes and change. Together, culture and evidence can illuminate powerful, human stories that allow for deeper understanding and effective collaboration and action toward common goals.
We envision this blog as a place for all types of educators, leaders, and researchers to “converse” with one another to reflect on important issues, bridge gaps in understanding, share high-level insights, improve institutional effectiveness, and highlight promising practices and research. (Perspectives peer-reviewed mini-journal, which focused primarily on promising practices, will now be a category of blog post within this platform.)
Data, Meet Culture is also a place where you can get to know us on a deeper level, too, through posts written by our own staff, board, and members on our individual and collective insights and approaches to the research and learning opportunities that drive our efforts each day.
We are honored and grateful to share Data, Meet Culture’s inaugural post with you, written by Hannah Lawler, a dedicated teammate, member, and change navigator.
