 Conference Information for Attendees

Though there is plenty of seating for all participants in total, each breakout room will have limited seating. If you arrive at your preferred session after all chairs are filled, you will be asked to go to another session as additional chairs cannot be added due to fire code regulations. We encourage you to arrive early to sessions you feel strongly about and/or to always have 2-3 options selected for each time slot to be safe.

The breakout rooms will be set with round tables or a combination of tables/theatre style, depending on room size. The clipboard/pad you will receive at conference check-in will make a great lap desk in the rooms with theatre-style seating.

If you have signed up for a post-conference workshop, they start at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, October 11th. Your badge will include a special designation allowing you entrance to the appropriate workshop. On-site registration for post-conference sessions will be accepted on a space-available basis only. All post-conference workshops include a boxed lunch.

The conference is business casual. We encourage all attendees and presenters to dress in layers and bring a light jacket as temperatures and comfort levels can vary in meeting rooms. The average temperature in Burlingame in October is 71 during the day and 53 in the middle of the night. We encourage you to check for up-to-date weather at as needed.

If you need to reach us between October 9th and 11th, please call the hotel at (650) 347-1234 and ask for the "Strengthening Student Success Conference Desk." If there is no answer, leave a message with the operator and ask that it be delivered immediately to the SSS Conference Desk (Grand Peninsula Foyer).

Please turn your pagers and cell phones off or to vibrate during all breakout sessions and conference functions as a courtesy to all.

You will have the opportunity to provide feedback about the individual sessions you attend via a survey available in the app. You will also receive an overall online conference evaluation link following the conference. Your feedback is important to us for future planning. We encourage you to take the time to complete the evaluation by Friday, October 25.

Our sponsors and exhibitors not only support our conference, but they are also wonderful resources and partners in the field. Please make sure you take the time to visit with the exhibitors at the conference. Additionally, the program directory distributed at the conference includes listings from all of the above. It's a great piece to have in your office on a daily basis. Please be sure to think of these people when you need a particular product or service. Stop by to visit with them and you may receive a "fun" ribbon for your badge. The more exhibitors you visit the more ribbons you collect!
