Multiple Measures Assessment Project (MMAP)

2014-2017

Growing evidence that multiple measures, such as high school transcripts and noncognitive variables, can greatly improve the accuracy of student placement in English and math, therefore facilitating their movement into and through college-level coursework.

Part of the California Community Colleges Common Assessment Initiative, the Multiple Measures Assessment Project aims to contribute to the advancement of this approach across the state’s system.

Research increasingly indicates that integrating instruction and student support can facilitate college efforts to significantly increase student progress and completion.

Student Support (Re)defined examined how community colleges can deliver support both inside and outside the classroom to improve success for all students, with a specific focus on what students themselves say they need to succeed.

CTE Launchboard Data Unlocked

Colleges need better information on student outcomes and labor market conditions to inform their CTE programs.

CTE Data Unlocked, part of the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office actions on the Strong Workforce Task Force recommendations, will help colleges find, understand, and apply CTE data; aid regions in developing their workforce plans; and prepare all CTE stakeholders to effectively use $200 million in new funding, available in 2017.

Dual enrollment can help high school students to get a jumpstart on earning college credits and make more seamless transitions into postsecondary education.

With a growing interest in this approach and recent legislation to support the engagement of historically underrepresented high school students in dual enrollment opportunities, the Dual Enrollment Toolkit offers secondary- and college-level educators practical guidance on delivering this strategy.

Cabrillo College Student Equity Convening

Student Equity planning offers an opportunity for community colleges to use a range of data and evidence to chart a course toward mitigating disproportionate impact and improving outcomes for all students.

Cabrillo College worked with the RP Group to complement its quantitative analysis with student focus groups, and share these student perspectives through a college convening—ultimately informing the development of its Student Equity Plan.
