IRPE Onboarding Course 

Are you new to California community colleges and/or institutional, research, planning, and effectiveness (IRPE)? The RP Group designed a self-paced IRPE onboarding course in Canvas focused on key foundations to best prepare those who are new with the knowledge and skills to navigate conversations about the following topics:

• The role of an IRPE office

• Statewide data sources

• State and federal reporting requirements for California’s community colleges

• Key statewide initiatives impacting the California Community Colleges (CCC) system

• Equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility within the context of CCC and IRPE operations

• Common quantitative and qualitative research methods 

• Survey design principles

• Presenting data effectively - NEW for 2026

• Designing effective and accessible data visualizations

• Research tools and resources

• Program review - NEW for 2026

• Participatory governance and institutional planning priorities

• IRPE roles in grant management and evaluation - NEW for 2026

• Enrollment management

• Where to find additional IRPE professional learning resources

Participants will maintain continuous access to the course throughout their employment with the college, district, or organization that pays the course registration fee.
