Conference Overview
The Strengthening Student Success conference provides a unique opportunity for a wide cross-section of people—including faculty, deans, program directors, student services staff, professional development leadership, researchers, and planners—to gather and brainstorm ways to strengthen institutional effectiveness and student learning.  Our 2009 conference explored using evidence to improve practice, as well as the integration of curriculum with basic skills, student services, CTE, and college institutional effectiveness structures.

The conference has been designed to promote interactive learning, build connections with your peers, and provide opportunities to hear perspectives from other disciplines.  In addition to interactive conference sessions, informative briefings, and inspirational keynote presentations, participants can dig into pressing community college issues at facilitated work sessions, join half-day intensive workshops, and spend time networking. Conference strands address cross-cutting issues such as "Teaching, Learning & Assessment in the Classroom," "Leadership and Sustainability for Assessment," and "the Basic Skills Initiative."

The 2009 Strengthening Student Success conference is presented by the RP Group in collaboration with the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges, the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, with underwriting from the William & Flora Hewlett Foundation and in-kind support from Mt San Antonio College and 3C Media Solutions.
